HHHunt Gives Back | April 2026

SHARE

Since the beginning of HHHunt, giving back has been at the core of who we are. Inspired by founder Harry Hunt’s passion for volunteering and community involvement, we’ve built a culture centered around one of our core brand promises: being an engaged community partner. As an engaged community partner, our team members step away from the typical workday routine to dedicate their time and talents to the communities we call home. As HHHunt celebrates 60 years, we’re proud to continue this tradition of service. Read on to see how our teams made an impact this April during National Volunteer Month.

Building Brighter Futures for Children

The HHHunt Homes team in Richmond recently partnered with Little Hands Virginia to support families and children. Team members spent time bundling diapers to provide children with a clean, dry and healthy start in life. “Little Hands Virginia provides diapers and essential supplies to families across Central Virginia, strengthening child health, restoring dignity and supporting economic stability.” The day of service was a reminder that even one day of volunteering can make a lasting impact on a child’s future.

A “Pawsitive” Day of Service in Chesterfield, VA

The HHHunt Homes Construction team in Richmond partnered with Chesterfield Animal Services and the Chesterfield County Police Department to help animals at the Chesterfield Animal Shelter. Thanks to Eric Wiseman, Construction Manager at HHHunt Homes, donated materials were secured from Home Depot, Sherwin Williams and Kempsville Building Materials, allowing our Construction team to build eight dog houses for rescue dogs in need of safe and comfortable shelter. In addition to the builds, team members also spent time cleaning the facility and dog cages to create a clean environment. To top off the day, the team even had the opportunity to walk and spend time with the shelter dogs. It was a rewarding day of service that made a meaningful impact for both the animals and the team members involved.

“On behalf of the Chesterfield County Police Department and Chesterfield County Animal Services, I want to extend our sincere gratitude… Your support makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the animals we care for every day. Because of your contributions, we will be better equipped to provide a safe, clean and comfortable environment for animals in need.” - Colonel Edward Carpenter Jr, Chief of Police.

Giving Back, One Donation at a Time

The support for pets continued in Manassas, VA, at Abberly Avera, where team members and residents came together to host a pet supply drive benefiting local shelters in Prince William County. Throughout the month, the community collected 124 pet supplies to donate to pets in need. Across our pet-friendly and breed restriction-free Abberly apartment communities, caring for animals is an important part of who we are.

The generous donations continued at Abberly Crest in Lexington Park, MD, with a clothing drive. For the whole month of April, residents and team members hosted a clothing drive to contribute to local churches in need. The drive collected a wide variety of donations, including shoes, shirts and coats, all of which will assist individuals and families in need.

Raffles for a Remarkable Cause

The spirit of giving continued at Abberly Pointe in Beaufort, SC, as team members and residents supported the Lowcountry Autism Foundation during Autism Awareness Month. Throughout the month, the community hosted a donation raffle drive, where each $1 donation earned participants an entry to win a Ninja Air Fryer. The fundraiser brought residents together for a fun cause while contributing to the foundation’s vision of “creating a South Carolina where individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families have access to resources and services that positively impact their quality of life”.

Cleaning Up for a Cause

Two team members standing in nature

On April 24, the Operational Marketing team spent the afternoon giving back at Pony Pasture in Richmond, VA. The mighty team of two cleaned up the park and surrounding areas along the James River in preparation for the annual 5K event. Proceeds from the 5K benefit a charity that helps children experience the outdoors through camp programs and activities. Through their day of service, the team made a difference in the local community while creating opportunities for children to connect with nature.

Living Our Brand Promises

Thank you to our incredible team members and residents for donating their time, energy and generosity to help make our communities a better place.
