The holiday season is an ideal time to give back to local communities and support nonprofit organizations that do incredible work. This week’s #GivingTuesday movement is a wonderful time to focus on philanthropic efforts for this holiday season. As an engaged community partner, we believe it’s important to support community service initiatives during the holidays and throughout the year. We are very proud of our team members for consistently giving back in their communities all year long!
We can’t list every community service effort, but we do want to highlight three recent examples of giving back:
Charleston Animal Society Chili Cook Off
Team members from our Abberly Crossing and Abberly West Ashley apartment communities participated in the 18th Annual Charleston Animal Society Chili Cook Off held at Riverfront Park in North Charleston on November 18th. The Charleston Animal Society is the only no kill shelter in South Carolina’s low country and this event is a major fundraiser for the organization. The HHHunt team cooked up 13 gallons of turkey chili using a secret recipe provided by Property Manager Jenny Owen. The event was a huge success and a great time was had by all!
Supporting Hurricane Relief Efforts
After seeing the devastation from recent hurricanes in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean, HHHunt wanted to do something to help people in need. In a company-wide effort, team members organized a variety of ways to give back. For example, all of our offices and communities organized clothing drives to support those in need.
Additionally, in the spirit of giving and helping others, many of our offices and communities have organized blood drives to support local blood banks. Some blood drives have already occurred and many more will be taking place in December and January.
We believe it’s how you live that matters. An important part of how our team members live is by participating in community service projects and raising money for amazing nonprofit organizations. Our team works every day to improve the world!
Consider how you can give back this holiday season. Whatever you do to help others – no matter how big or small – means that you’re making the world a better place. Thank you!
