We believe being an Engaged Community Partner means showing up—not just for ribbon cuttings or photo ops, but for real people, real needs and real moments of connection. This May, our team members across all divisions did exactly that. They stepped in to serve, not because they had to, but because giving back is woven into who we are.
Our commitment to service isn’t limited by geography. From Ladson, SC, to Manassas, VA, our Apartment Living teams found meaningful ways to support their communities. In South Carolina, Abberly Crossing partnered with Neighbors Together, spending hours preparing donated clothes for a community consignment shop working to address housing insecurity in Charleston. Hundreds of miles away in Virginia, Abberly Avera invited residents to the leasing office to write cards of encouragement in partnership with A Bright Spot. These teams made a difference—one sorted shirt or handwritten card at a time.
Our teams also demonstrated that service can take many forms. In Richmond, our HHHunt Homes Construction Team contributed over 120 volunteer hours with ToolBank, putting their professional skills to work on a local build site. Their hard work helped move a vital community project forward—an example of what happens when teams come together to give back. Meanwhile, Jacob Sechrist of HHHunt Homes partnered with Meals on Wheels of Suffolk and Isle of Wight, delivering meals and connections to neighbors in need. His commitment reflects the power of individual action and the importance of building community through compassion, one person and one meal at a time. Whether through team-based, skill-driven projects or personal acts of service, our team is empowered to give in ways that are meaningful to them.
In Greenville, SC, the team at Abberly Market Point reminded us how powerful a warm meal can be. They partnered with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas to serve dinner to families facing medical crises. Community Manager, Kara Morian, shared:
“Having the opportunity to help serve families that are going through a lot, warms your heart. It helps remind you what is important in life. It feels good to work for a company that allows us to give back!”
At HHHunt, volunteering isn’t a checkbox—it’s part of our culture. It’s how we live our brand promises and bring our values to life.
