SHARE

At HHHunt, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. Our commitment to volunteerism is embodied in our brand promise to be an Engaged Community Partner. Our teams dedicated their time and efforts to various impactful projects this May. Here's a recap of our endeavors:

Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and Eastern Shore, VA

On May 21st, seven employees from our HHHunt Homes team in the Hampton Roads, VA market volunteered at the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and Eastern Shore. Our team assisted visitors at the foodbank's grocery store-style storefront—visitors who had scheduled appointments received shopping carts and grocery bags to collect their items. Our volunteers helped by bagging produce, stocking shelves, and assisting shoppers with their needs. This effort was crucial in supporting the food bank's mission to provide food security to the community.

Spur'n Hope in Amelia, VA

Our largest project of the month took place at Spur'N Hope, where we undertook a significant renovation of their current barn. Spur'n Hope serves at-risk youth, adults in recovery and veterans through life skills programs facilitated by interactions with horses. Over 73 volunteers contributed more than 200 hours to transform the facility. We built pavers, walls and storage areas; installed an outdoor kitchen; remodeled the training room and office; painted both the barn's exterior and interior; added bathroom flooring; installed HVAC in the training room; and fixed several electrical outlets. This extensive renovation will significantly enhance Spur'N Hope's ability to deliver their valuable services.

Y-TOSS With YMCA at Virginia Tech

Eight team members from our Blacksburg, VA, corporate office participated in the annual Y-TOSS event coordinated by the YMCA at Virginia Tech. Y-TOSS is one of the most significant sustainability initiatives on campus. It collects gently used items from dorms during student move-out days. These items are sold to incoming students during the fall move-in sale, with all profits supporting YMCA Student Programs. Our team's involvement helped ensure the success of this vital sustainability and fundraising event.

Cereal Drive for Chesterfield, VA Food Bank

Abberly CenterPointe in Midlothian, VA, completed a successful cereal drive, collecting over 80 boxes to benefit the Chesterfield Food Bank. Partnering with the Chesterfield County Police, our team gathered donations and engaged in a fun experiment, making a large-scale domino chain out of cereal boxes. The team did their part to make the drive an enjoyable and meaningful experience for all participants.

Habitat for Humanity in Goochland, VA

May 30th, employees from our Homes, Business Development, Land Acquisition and Human Resources teams volunteered with Goochland Habitat for Humanity. For the fourth year in a row, they assisted in setting roof trusses and sheathing for a new house. This ongoing partnership has been instrumental in helping Habitat for Humanity provide safe and affordable housing to families in need.

Urban Ministries of Wake County, NC, Beautification Project

In Wake County, NC, our HHHunt team members lived our brand promise by participating in a beautification project at Urban Ministries of Wake County. Volunteers worked diligently to cut grass, clean up dead leaves and debris, trim, weed and edge the property. Urban Ministries of Wake County provides food and nutrition, promotes health and wellness and lays the foundations of home for impoverished people. Our team's efforts helped enhance the environment where these crucial services are delivered.

Chesterfield Food Bank Meat Packing

On May 30th, members of HHHunt's Marketing and Recruiting teams volunteered for four hours at the Chesterfield Food Bank. They packed three different kinds of meats into shopping bags that would be delivered to families in need. Altogether, they packed 1,016 individual bags of frozen meat. This effort played a significant role in supporting the food bank’s mission to combat food insecurity in the community.
