Happy Holidays from HHHunt! This time of year is so special to all of our team members, residents, and homeowners because it’s a time for all of us to come together. We believe it’s how you live that matters, and we strive to fulfill our vision of improving the world and how people live every day. That means giving back to the communities where we develop and build and help lifting up those less fortunate whenever and wherever possible. This is especially true during the holiday season!
Along with HHHunt, you can also give back to your community this month! Here are some ways to show #HowYouLive and spread holiday cheer in December:
- Participate in a Food or Clothing Drive: Donate non-perishable food items or clothes you no longer wear to your local shelter or community center. You can even ask your neighbors in your community to participate as well. For instance, Rutland in Hanover County just wrapped up their annual Food Drive where Rutland homeowners donated to the Central Virginia Food Bank.
- Collect Toys for Local Children: Every child should receive a gift during the holidays! That’s why Abberly Crossing in Ladson, South Carolina hosts “Operation E.L.F.,” where they collect toys for the Dorchester Children’s Center. Just like a food or clothing drive, it’s very simple to create your own toy drive too.
- Adopt a Family for the Holidays: There are many programs in your community where you can adopt a family in need. White Hall in Toano, Virginia adopted a James City County single mother and her three children and donated clothing, gifts, and food to the family. Adopt A Family is a phenomenal program that White Hall has participated in for many years.
