We at HHHunt value healthy and active lifestyles and it’s not just for our residents and communities, but for our team members too. We understand that it’s how you live that matters and staying healthy is an important component of a happy life. That’s why we’re excited to announce HHHunt’s newest wellness initiative: the 2015 Walking Around HHHunt Challenge!
During the month of June, this challenge will encourage our 1,700 team members to stay healthy, have fun with colleagues, and get out into our communities more often. Every participant received an HHHunt pedometer to keep track of his or her steps. Plus, HHHunt team members are eligible for awesome prizes! All you have to do is start walking. We even shared some walking plans with team members that show how easy it is to reach a goal of 10,000 steps a day by the end of the month. In fact, did you know that it takes 5,366,800 steps to visit all 43 HHHunt locations? Let’s see if anyone can match that!
Walking together is not just a fun team building exercise, but there are lots of tangible health benefits. The American Heart Association highlights a number of ways that walking improves your health, such as reducing the risk of coronary heart disease, improving blood pressure and blood sugar levels, enhancing mental well being, and reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
We’re also encouraging team members to share the healthy fun they’re having during this challenge! Take a “healthy selfie” during your walks and share it with the #HowYouLive hashtag. We’ll post some of our favorites on our Facebook page and the photos may inspire others too. Stay tuned for updates on the challenge and some walking tips in the coming weeks.
