We’re so proud of the incredible team members who serve in our communities and occasionally like to highlight someone who has truly demonstrated HHHunt’s vision to improve the world and how people live. One such amazing team member is Stephanie Pollard with our Spring Arbor of Kinston senior living community in Kinston, NC.
Stephanie was one of six national winners for the 2017 Argentum Hero Award, which recognizes individuals who represent the highest levels of excellence, caring and dedication in senior living. Recipients are honored by Argentum, the leading national trade association of the senior living industry. Stephanie was selected in a highly competitive process among hundreds of nominations from across the country. This award comes only a few months after Stephanie was honored with Assisted Living Hero Award by the North Carolina Assisted Living Association.
Stephanie, a Cottage Care Coordinator at Spring Arbor of Kinston, works closely with residents who suffer from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Stephanie’s compassion and commitment are evident to her residents, their family members, and her colleagues.
She is purposeful in getting to know each resident and treats them as individuals worthy of the utmost love and respect. For example, Stephanie can tell you where each resident grew up, what their jobs were, the names of their children and spouses, and what hobbies and interests made them happy. She is gifted at calming a resident who is having a bad day by singing favorite songs, telling familiar stories, or just by speaking quietly to them.
Randy Jackson, Area Director for HHHunt Senior Living, noted in his Argentum Hero Award nomination of Stephanie that she “sees beauty in the darkness and pain of Dementia and Alzheimer’s and she helps everyone around her to see it as well. She is one of a kind, wonderful and genuinely desires to improve the lives of those she serves.”
Stephanie embodies our how you live philosophy and we celebrate her for dedication, commitment, and care. Congratulations to Stephanie and thank you for all you do!
