Spring Arbor Takes Part in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s

This past weekend marked the 2015 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in the Richmond region and Spring Arbor of Salisbury and Spring Arbor of Richmond had a strong group of walkers attend this year! Despite the rain, many residents and community members took part in the two mile walk and dozens more donated to the team over the past few months. Both senior living communities also spearheaded multiple fundraisers throughout the year to help raise funds towards their team. As a result, both teams raised a combined total of more than $1,500, which exceeded their goal of $1,000 by 50 percent! All of the funds will go towards Alzheimer’s Disease research. Thank you so much for all of the effort and support from our amazing team members. Congratulations! Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Walks are held throughout the country and all of our Spring Arbor communities participate in these meaningful events. According to the 2015 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures by the Alzheimer’s Association, the number of Americans with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia is estimated to soar to 7.1 million by 2025, a 40 percent increase from the 5.1 million affected this year. HHHunt and our Spring Arbor communities are proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association and remain optimistic that expanded research will help identify new approaches and solutions for Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
