Every day our team of professionals works diligently to ensure we build, develop and manage some of the best apartment living, new homes and master-planned communities in the world. This past year was no exception. With the new year right around the corner, we wanted to take this opportunity to share some of our highlights from 2021.
HHHunt Wins Big at MAME Awards
HHHunt Homes and HHHunt Communities were recognized for their outstanding new homes and master-planned communities at the 2021 MAME Awards hosted by the Home Builders Association of Richmond. Each year, the Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence (MAME) awards recognize residential real estate products, services, and professionals that have enhanced the quality of life for homeowners and residents in the Greater Richmond region.
Our 2021 awards included: Best Advertising Campaign, Best Marketed Community 251 to 500 Home Sites, Best Marketed Community 501+ Home Sites, Best Model Home Townhome/ Condominium, Best Model Home Single Family-Detached, and our Senior Vice-President of Marketing, Jill Crews, won Marketer of the Year.
Wellness Your Way
One of the most important characteristics of our company culture is our commitment to wellness. Physical and mental wellness is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it be developing master-planned communities with health and wellness amenities, we strive to create products and services that embrace healthy living.
As part of that commitment, every year we launch a wellness challenge. This year’s challenge revolved around Wellness Your Way. Given the unprecedented past year, we wanted to create a wellness program that employees, residents and homeowners could participate in wherever and whenever they wanted.
Making a Difference in our Local Communities
At HHHunt we promise to be an engaged community partner and supporting our communities through volunteerism is part of our corporate culture. This year alone we framed a Habitat for Humanity home, served meals at numerous food pantries, and held local food drives, blood drives and pet supply drives. We helped raise awareness and support for Alzheimer’s, cancer and heart disease. As a company, we collected over 2,500 school supply items in one of our most successful school supply drives yet. We closed the year with our annual food drive which resulted in over 17,000 food items and a monetary donation of $17,000 to local food banks. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Habitat for Humanity and exploring new partnerships in our key areas of housing, wellness and education that align with our values and our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
Growing Our Apartment Living, New Homes, and Master-Planned Community Offerings
Since our company’s founding in 1966, Harry H. Hunt, III committed to re-investing 90 percent of HHHunt’s profits back into the company. We continue that strategy today and are excited to share all the new projects we have in store for the remainder of this year into 2022. At the end of 2020, HHHunt broke ground on a brand-new apartment community in Charlotte, North Carolina. Abberly Liberty Crossing will include 320 one, two and three-bedroom apartment homes with a wide array of amenities. The community will offer luxury living with fresh designs and finishes.
We also broke ground on Abberly Commons in Charlotte, NC and Abberly Alston in Cary, NC. Both communities will include one- and two-bedroom apartments that offer luxury living, such as shaker style cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and wood-style flooring. Abberly Royal Creek in Fuquay-Varina is also scheduled to break ground soon. The community will boast lots of amenities tailored to residents and their pets. For example, the community will feature an outdoor pet park, pet spa and pet lounge.
HHHunt Homes is growing its presence in Hampton Roads, VA and Raleigh, NC as well! In addition to our two previously announced communities, Maidstone Village in New Kent County and our new condos at Quarterpath in Williamsburg, we are also building several new home communities in Suffolk, Virginia. These will offer nearly 400 new townhome or single-family home opportunities in the region.
HHHunt Communities will be developing three new master-planned communities in the Richmond, Virginia region over the next several years. Charter Colony West is a return to our award-winning community, Charter Colony. This expansion includes 495 new homes as part of individual villages. Future homeowners will be full members of the Charter Colony Foundation with the opportunity to enjoy existing parks, trails, pools, clubhouses, a sports court, an amphitheater, a sand volleyball court and frequent community events. Other new communities include The Aire at Westchester with a total of 2,215 residential homes including apartments, condominiums, townhomes, and single-family homes and the Pointe at Twin Hickory with 105 condominium homes.
