At HHHunt, we believe it’s how you live that matters, and our team of professionals is consistently pursuing new opportunities to fulfill our company’s Vision “to improve the world and how people live by creating meaningful experiences and places of great distinction.” To achieve our Vision, we developed Brand Promises and Values that guide our decision-making process. One of those Promises is to be Employee Centered.
We recently sat down with Ebony Wilkins, HHHunt’s new Diversity, Inclusion and Talent Manager to discuss what being Employee Centered means to her and why she joined the company.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born and raised in Richmond, VA. I went away to boarding school in Pennsylvania for high school and came back to Richmond to attend VCU where I earned my degree in History with a minor in African American Studies. I’ve been married to my bestie, Michael, for 22 years. We have three kids: N’Daya and Amaris, 16 and Noah, 9. I love to read, and I’m completely addicted to British murder mysteries on Britbox.
What guided your decision to join HHHunt?
Kelly Rosato, our Chief Human Resources Officer, was my first real introduction to HHHunt. I had worked with her briefly in a past life. We reconnected when I was looking to further my career in Human Resources. Kelly shared the amazing work that she was doing at HHHunt with me.
Tell us about some of the initiatives you will be focusing on in 2021?
I’ve recently accepted the role of Diversity, Inclusion and Talent Manager at HHHunt. I am honored and so excited. This year we will build on the solid foundation that defines who we are as an organization. We will learn more about each other as individuals and team members. We’ll have open and transparent conversations that will help us grow as an organization and create a company climate that is inclusive for all. We are also creating two entities to assist with this very important work: The Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Belonging Steering Committee (that’s a mouthful) and the Diversity Council. These two bodies will work closely with Ann Kelly, our Chief Financial Officer and Executive Sponsor, and myself, to ensure our goals are representative of the needs of all our team members and customers.
How do HHHunt’s Brand Promises and Values guide your decision making?
When I was interviewing for the Recruiter role with HHHunt, I read the entire website! One of the things that resonated with me was how the company’s Brand Promises and Values are so closely aligned with my beliefs. I feel like the Brand Promises and Values boil down to, “Do what’s right, because right, is the right thing to do!” And that’s how I try to live. On a professional level, taking care of employees, focusing on the needs of customers by offering products that are of the highest quality; and, showing up as a concerned corporate citizen in the communities where we do business are things that are important to me as well.
At HHHunt, we believe it’s how you live that matters. What does that mean to you?
Simply put, how you live is indicative of who you are. Live well, be well, show up well in everything you do.
