Janet Riddlebarger has been an essential part of the HHHunt family for 37 years and is one of the leading advocates for the multifamily industry in the United States. Earlier this year, Janet announced her upcoming retirement, and we could think of no better way to honor her contributions than to present her with the first-ever HHHunt ICON Award. The ICON Award celebrates a team member who has made a positive difference in the lives of others at HHHunt by supporting their professional and personal growth.

Janet’s Journey
Janet joined HHHunt in 1983 as a Leasing Agent at Foxridge Apartment Homes in Blacksburg, Virginia. She had worked as executive director for the Virginia Safety Association but wanted to try her hand at business and enrolled in classes at New River Community College and Virginia Tech. Janet was drawn to leasing because it involved so many facets of business including sales, marketing, finance and management. She loved the experience and quickly rose through the ranks to Regional Manager, Director of Operations, Vice-President of Apartment Living, and finally Senior Vice-President of Apartment Living – a position that she has held for nearly 20 years.
An Amazing Impact
During her tenure, Janet helped grow HHHunt’s apartment living portfolio to 21 communities spanning Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina with several more under construction. Her success is founded on her strong belief in HHHunt’s Brand Promises. She was instrumental in growing HHHunt University, an online and in-person teaching program designed to mentor young professionals about best practices in apartment living management. Janet also implemented a comprehensive resident survey program that provides feedback on improvement and the types of amenities residents are seeking in today’s apartment communities.
What makes Janet such an influential part of the HHHunt family is her dedication to fellow team members. She has been a mentor to hundreds of Apartment Living employees and has guided them to become the best they can be. Janet, you truly are an ICON!
