Honoring National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month

November marks the 30th anniversary of President Reagan declaring November as National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month. Team members at our Spring Arbor Senior Living and Spring Arbor Cottage communities see the effects of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia on a daily basis and are passionate to bring awareness to the disease and raise funds to help in the mission to find a cure.

We are also passionate about supporting our residents with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones. For example, Spring Arbor Memory Care Cottages offer a unique blend of programs and specially trained staff to provide an unmatched level of care to meet the needs of individuals with various forms of dementia. Signature programs such as “Art from the Heart” and “Hearts and Harmony” provide creative outlets for residents to strengthen existing cognitive functions and gardening activities help to build confidence, reduce stress levels and stimulate the senses.

Our Spring Arbor communities are committed to making a positive impact by serving as engaged community partners. Spring Arbor team members often support the Alzheimer’s Association’s Longest Day initiative, the Dementia Alliance, and the Memory Care Walks in various ways. Their dedication helps fulfill HHHunt’s mission to improve the world and how people live.

November is also National Caregiver Month. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Spring Arbor caregivers for their dedication and commitment to unparalleled quality care. We also admire our residents’ family members and loved ones for their enduring support. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
