It’s back to school time! This may be a happy time of year for most parents as their kids prepare to return to the classroom, but it can be an especially stressful time for parents and family members who can’t afford some or all of the necessary school supplies. As an engaged community partner, HHHunt recognized this need and decided to help. That’s why we teamed up with the Henrico Education Foundation in the Richmond, VA area on a school supply drive.
As part of the Henrico Education Foundation’s “School Supply Challenge,” HHHunt team members and friends collected a wide array of supplies, such as pencils, pens, highlighters, composition notebooks, index cards, spiral notebooks, backpacks and more. The supplies, as well as monetary donations that were matched dollar-for-dollar by HHHunt, were collected in August and delivered to Dumbarton Elementary School in Henrico County.
This is the second year in a row that HHHunt has collected school supplies for Dumbarton Elementary School as part of the School Supply Challenge. HHHunt’s Richmond office (including HHHunt Corporation, Homes and Communities team members), The Gardens at Twin Hickory, Spring Arbor of Salisbury, Spring Arbor Cottage of Salisbury, Spring Arbor of Richmond, and Spring Arbor Cottage of Richmond all participated in the school supply drive.
Ann Kelly, HHHunt’s Vice President of Finance, helped to organize the school supply collection. After delivering the supplies, she noted, “It is such a rewarding experience to know that we are helping young minds in our community. Thank you for the continued opportunity to be a partner that helps so many budding minds.”
With the incredible effort of our team members and friends, we were able to make a difference in the lives of the students at Dumbarton Elementary School. This effort highlights HHHunt’s vision to improve the world and reinforces our philosophy that it’s how you live that matters. All children deserve a great education and the tools for success!
