Happy National Assisted Living Week! Established by the National Center for Assisted Living in 1995, this week is a celebration to acknowledge the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors.
This year’s theme is “Keep Connected,” which recognizes the opportunity that technology plays in enhancing the care in assisted living communities. “Keep Connected” encourages both residents and team members to use of the latest forms of communication to engage with the world around them.
Did you know that seniors are the fastest-growing Internet and social media users? Social media enables seniors and their loved ones to reconnect with people from their past, bridge generational gaps, and find online support. In fact, 35% of seniors use social media on a weekly basis and more than 89% of seniors send or read email on a typical day.
Yet, in the connected world that we live in, our team members and volunteers still create unbreakable personal connections with every Spring Arbor resident. Whether it’s a caregiver stopping by the hospital to check on an ill resident, a cook adding some extra flair to a dessert, or a housekeeper repotting a wilting plant, Spring Arbor’s commitment to serving you and your family is their passion.
It’s exciting to see all of the National Assisted Living Week activities and events taking place in each of our communities! We believe it’s how you live that matters, and our team of compassionate professionals makes Spring Arbor a place where residents are celebrated daily. We hope that all of our Spring Arbor communities have a great time celebrating this week!
