As Earth Day approaches, we want to highlight the important role we all play as responsible stewards of our environment. Earth Day, which was first celebrated in 1970, is marked by events in over 193 countries around the globe. HHHunt believes it’s how you live that matters and our vision is to improve the world and how people live by creating meaningful experiences and places of great distinction. A key component of this vision is caring for the environment. As builders and developers, we have a unique responsibility to protect and preserve our natural surroundings. In fact, we strive to incorporate green amenities and features in all of our communities. This effort has been particularly important for HHHunt Communities, our division that develops stunning master-planned communities.
Homeowners want more open spaces and green features in their communities. They want to connect with nature and enhancing those natural elements is a key component to creating a sense of community. That’s why our communities are “green,” meaning that the building process includes green products and practices that create a home that is a smarter, safer and a stronger choice for the environment. Because we take the environment into account when developing our master-planned communities, our communities are more sustainable as well.
We accomplish our goal of sustainability in a number of ways. For instance, care is taken to save as many well-established trees as possible. Additionally, we focus on creating green spaces which include walking trails, community parks, open lawn areas and more. HHHunt Communities has been a leader in developing green amenities for new home communities. Jonathan Ridout, Director of Development for HHHunt Communities, wrote an article in Professional Builder Magazine exploring why homebuyers are demanding green features. HHHunt also was highlighted in an article about green features in new home communities.
In addition to community amenities, we strive to exceed standards for energy efficiency and water conservation. It is through these efforts that we are able to provide environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible communities for homeowners to enjoy. Recycling is offered at each HHHunt community and homeowners can choose to include energy-efficient materials in their homes, such as Energy Star-Qualified Appliances, programmable thermostats, CFL Lighting and more.
We are proud to be a leader when it comes to green features and sustainability! Protecting our natural surroundings is good for everyone. If you’d like to experience the green features at our communities for yourself, please visit the HHHunt Communities website.
