Community Service Shines at Senior Living Communities

Community Service Shines at Senior Living Communities

Serving as an engaged community partner is not just a part of HHHunt’s corporate culture, but it is also one of our Brand Promises.  We are inspired by the community service efforts of our teams! They do so much and we want recognize their incredible contributions by taking a look at recent community engagement outreach. This week we are highlighting three Spring Arbor communities that are making a lasting impact in North Carolina and Virginia!

Spring Arbor of Albemarle

community serviceSupporting local community service initiatives is fun. Doing so while also enjoying delicious food is even better! That was the case for Spring Arbor of Albemarle’s first “911” Chili Cook-Off, which focused on emergency personnel doing the cooking. This free event included dinner, entertainment and meeting emergency personnel from the local police, sheriff, fire and rescue departments. Attendees had a great time getting to know their local heroes in a social atmosphere. Everyone who attended enjoyed a complete chili meal prepared by the Spring Arbor cooking staff.  Throughout dinner, guests voted for their favorite emergency personnel group.  This was for the “People’s Pick Award” and all proceeds, totaling $152, were donated to the local Community Table to help feed the area’s homeless population.

Spring Arbor of Fredericksburg

Team members, residents and loved ones at Spring Arbor of Fredericksburg are getting their walking shoes ready! The community will sponsor and participate in the Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging’s Electric Stride Walk/Run on June 8th.  This event raises money for the agency and all proceeds will assist area seniors with their electric bills. Spring Arbor of Fredericksburg team members and residents also stay busy by collecting items for a local homeless shelter and volunteering at the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank.

Spring Arbor of Kinston

community serviceFinding a cure for Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia is a cause about which many of our Spring Arbor teams are passionate. The Spring Arbor of Kinston team participated in the Third Annual Lenoir County Memory Walk on Saturday, April 8th. The walk attracted about 225 attendees. Randy Jackson, Executive Director, noted that this was the third year that Spring Arbor of Kinston had chaired this event. The community raised approximately $19,000 for the cause (which is $7,000 more than last year)!  A number of Spring Arbor team members, residents and families came out to show their support. We love this photo of them together!

At HHHunt, we believe it’s how you live that matters! Our team members are committed to helping improve the world around them through community service. To learn more about HHHunt’s community engagement and other Brand Promises, check out our website and follow us on Facebook.
