Looking for things to do in Williamsburg, Virginia this spring? Williamsburg is a top destination for tourists, businesses and homebuyers alike offering a vibrant quality of life and active social scene. With so much to do, it is no wonder that Williamsburg remains one of the fastest-growing communities in Virginia. If you’re planning a trip or thinking about moving to the area, HHHunt has you covered with some of the top things to do in Williamsburg this spring.
As one of the oldest permanently settled communities in the United States, it’s no surprise that women helped shape Williamsburg and the entire country into what it is today. That is why Colonial Williamsburg will be celebrating and examining the experiences, lives and relationships of women during Women's History Month. There are numerous special programs on women's' rights, the experiences of enslaved women, and stories of arts and fashion.
Why limit St. Patrick’s Day to one day when you can celebrate all month long? Busch Gardens is hosting their annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration from March 3rd to the 26th at their Killarney village. Guests will be able to stroll through the park’s decorated villages filled with rides and family-friendly activities for all ages. This event is known to offer scavenger hunts, photo ops with Clancy the Leprechaun, and visits with Sesame Street® friends in the Sesame Street® Forest of Fun™.
One of the most popular events during the spring is the return of the Williamsburg Farmers Market. The Williamsburg Farmers Market's mission is to sustain, foster, and operate a weekly farmers market in Merchants Square for growers and producers to sell fresh seasonal food and farm products direct to consumers in the Williamsburg area. You will have the opportunity to get a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as home goods made locally.
Ready to experience Colonial Williamsburg in an entirely new way? The special event, CW Lights, returns on March 31st. Families can explore the Governor’s palace and gardens which are illuminated with thousands of different lights. Experience the new spring flowers in an entirely different way as they glow with vibrant greens, purples, yellows, reds, and oranges.
Williamsburg is loved by its biking enthusiasts which is why the Colonial National Historical Park and Bike Walk Williamsburg created their Pedal the Parkway event. Participants will be able to stroll, roll, bike or walk seven miles of the Colonial Parkway. During this three-day event, the Colonial Parkway will be closed to vehicle access between Highway 199/Kingspoint and Route 359. Stay tuned for announcement of the official event dates in April 2023.
