Santa has returned to Charter Colony, and he made quite an entrance! Every December, excitement sweeps through the community as the neighbors step out, bundled in coats and filled with anticipation, waiting to hear the distant sirens of a fire truck rolling their way. For the fifth straight year, this beloved tradition has brought cheer, smiles and holiday spirit to the streets of Charter Colony.

This year’s Santa parade was truly memorable. Santa arrived aboard an authentic antique fire truck from Afton, Virginia, decorated in twinkling lights and snow. With a police escort leading the way, Santa made 19 stops throughout Charter Colony, where elves greeted children, handed out candy and collected letters destined for the North Pole. More than 600 glowing wands lit the sidewalks as children waited eagerly to see Santa. Homeowners lined their porches, waving and applauding while Santa and his helpers sang holiday favorites. It felt like a scene from a Hallmark movie: joyful, inviting and full of community spirit.
“It was such a magical night,” says Leslie Kalb, Charter Colony’s on-site How You Live Lifestyle Manager. “There’s something special about seeing Santa on that vintage fire truck, talking with the children, singing along with the crowd. It brings back the nostalgic feeling of old-time parades. We have so much fun being part of it every year.”
Events like this are made possible through the dedication of Genesis Community Management (GCM), the team behind Charter Colony’s vibrant lifestyle.
